How to evaluate AI-generated information
A framework for checking sources, dates, assumptions and uncertainty.
Open the original source
Ask for the source and verify that the document exists. Read the relevant passage in context. Numbers without a date, unit or methodology are not sufficient facts for a decision.
Separate fact, hypothesis and opinion
Identify what can be confirmed and what depends on an assumption. Ask which data contradict the conclusion. Useful analysis presents limitations, not just a coherent narrative.
Check freshness and consequences
Confirm that the data still represent the situation being analysed. Recalculate important figures and assess the effect of an incorrect answer. For decisions with financial consequences, the tool should support verification, never replace it.
