What a chart can tell you
Price, time and context: learn to read without mistaking a pattern for certainty.
Price within a time frame
Each candle summarises a period: open, high, low and close. The selected period changes the interpretation. A move that looks large over minutes may be small in the context of months. Check the time zone and price source too.
Indicators transform data
Moving averages and other indicators reorganise price or volume data. They do not reveal the future. Different parameters produce different signals and may respond to market changes with a delay.
Context and hypothesis
Record the hypothesis the chart helps evaluate and what could invalidate it. Avoid selecting only examples that confirm your idea. Combine observation with an understanding of the product, costs and risk limits.
